Sundram Fasteners reported Q1 FY26 revenue of INR 1,367 crores with EBITDA of INR 238 crores at a 17.5% margin, up from 17% in Q1 last year and 15.6% in Q4 FY25. The company posted its highest-ever quarterly profit before tax of INR 186 crores and profit after tax of INR 138 crores, driven by strong domestic performance across commercial vehicles, tractors, SUVs and passenger vehicles. Management guided 8-9% revenue growth for the full year if exports improve, and sees room for another 1% margin expansion though returning to the 19-19.5% peak may be challenging. Capex is set at INR 300 crores this year, and GM-related business alone is expected to exceed INR 250 crores, with EV ramp-up anticipated by next year.
Positive signals for shareholders with record quarterly profits, improving margins, and declining borrowings. Management confidence in domestic outperformance continuing and no tariff burden being passed to the company supports near-term sentiment, though export market uncertainty remains a watchpoint.
