Sunrise Industrial Traders Limited has filed its standalone audited financial results for the quarter and year ended 31st March 2025, with the statutory auditor (M/s A N Shah & Associates) issuing an unmodified opinion. Total revenue from operations rose modestly to Rs 571.83 lakhs in FY25 from Rs 557.15 lakhs in FY24, while full-year profit after tax increased to Rs 325.99 lakhs from Rs 311.74 lakhs (EPS of Rs 65.33 vs Rs 62.47). Q4 FY25 PAT jumped sharply to Rs 133.58 lakhs from Rs 58.78 lakhs in Q4 FY24, largely boosted by an exceptional item of Rs 85.98 lakhs booked in the quarter. However, other comprehensive income swung dramatically to a loss of Rs 105.80 lakhs (from a gain of Rs 3,760.90 lakhs last year) due to adverse fair value changes in equity investments, pulling total comprehensive income down to Rs 431.79 lakhs. Operating cash flow also reversed to a negative Rs 179.47 lakhs in FY25 from a positive Rs 268.69 lakhs in FY24, with cash and equivalents falling to Rs 530.22 lakhs.
Headline profit numbers look stronger mainly due to a one-time exceptional gain, while the swing to negative operating cash flow and a large mark-to-market loss on equity investments signal weaker underlying earnings quality. Shareholders should expect limited re-rating support and should seek clarity on the nature of the exceptional item and the company's equity investment portfolio.
