Suzlon Energy has bagged a 381 MW wind turbine order from Zelestra India, marking Zelestra's first-ever Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The order involves 127 of Suzlon's S144 turbines (3 MW each) to be set up across three states — Maharashtra (180 MW), Madhya Pradesh (180 MW), and Tamil Nadu (21 MW). The Maharashtra and MP portions are part of SJVN's FDRE bid, while the Tamil Nadu capacity will supply Commercial & Industrial consumers. With this win, Suzlon's S144 orderbook is now around 91% utilized, underscoring strong demand for its latest turbine platform. Zelestra, backed by Swedish fund EQT, is building a 5 GW renewable portfolio in India with grid connections planned for 2027–2028.
Positive for shareholders — a sizeable new order strengthens Suzlon's revenue visibility, pushes its flagship S144 turbine close to full orderbook capacity, and validates its position as India's top wind solutions provider in the fast-growing FDRE segment.
