SVA India reported weak Q1 FY26 results. Standalone other operating income fell to ₹13.27 lakh from ₹22.88 lakh a year ago, a drop of about 42%. Total expenditure surged to ₹62.90 lakh from ₹23.31 lakh, driven mainly by a jump in finance costs (₹22.19 lakh vs ₹4.81 lakh) and other expenses. The company posted a standalone loss after tax of ₹50.17 lakh versus a marginal loss of ₹0.42 lakh in Q1 FY25, with EPS at ₹(1.52). On a consolidated basis, after adding ₹72.88 lakh share of profit from associates, net profit was ₹22.71 lakh, sharply lower than ₹79.40 lakh in the year-ago quarter. The auditor, NBS & Co. (a change from the previous statutory auditors), issued an unmodified conclusion on standalone results but a modified (qualified) conclusion on consolidated results because the associate companies' interim financials were not reviewed by their auditors.
Sharply higher costs and falling revenue have pushed the standalone business into a deeper loss, although associate income keeps the bottom line marginally positive at the consolidated level. Investors should watch the rising finance costs and shrinking core revenue, which could pressure the stock in the short term.
