Tata Investment Corporation has written to shareholders who still hold shares in physical form, reminding them about the upcoming sub-division of equity shares. One equity share of face value Rs. 10 will be split into 10 equity shares of face value Re. 1 each (a 1:10 stock split). The split was approved by the Board on August 4, 2025, and confirmed by shareholders via postal ballot on September 22, 2025. The record date for the split is October 14, 2025. Physical shareholders must either dematerialize their shares or submit their demat account details to the company's registrar (MUFG Intime) by October 9, 2025. If they fail to do so, the new sub-divided shares will be parked in a Suspense Escrow Demat Account held by the company, and shareholders will need to claim them later.
Existing shareholders will simply hold 10 times more shares, but the total value of their holding remains unchanged since the face value is reduced proportionally. Physical shareholders who do not demat by the deadline may face delays and extra paperwork in claiming their split shares from the escrow account.
