Tata Motors Group posted its highest-ever revenues and PBT (before exceptional items) for FY25. Q4 revenue was ~Rs. 1,19,000 cr with EBITDA of ~Rs. 16,700 cr and auto free cash flow of ~Rs. 19,400 cr. Net debt swung from a peak of ~Rs. 60,000 cr to a net cash of ~Rs. 1,000 cr, earning a two-notch credit rating upgrade; ROCE stood at 17.6%. The board declared a Rs. 6/share final ordinary dividend (300% of face value), and the demerger remains on track for an October 1, 2025 effective date. JLR delivered its highest quarterly PBT in 9 years (GBP 875M) and ended FY25 with GBP 278M net cash, though new US tariffs (UK-to-US jumping 300% to 10%, EU-to-US up 1000%) have prompted transformation cost programs and pulled FY26 guidance until the JLR Investor Day on June 16. The CV business hit a record PBT of Rs. 6,600 cr with 37.1% domestic market share and 37.7% ROCE, while the PV business saw FY25 EBITDA margin slip ~100 bps to 8.1% but management is targeting a return to double-digit EBITDA with new launches (Altroz refresh, Sierra, Harrier EV, Sierra EV).
Shareholders get a record dividend and confirmation of a debt-free balance sheet, but JLR's tariff exposure and a pulled FY26 earnings outlook introduce near-term uncertainty. The strong product pipeline and Investor Day on June 16 (JLR) / June 9 (Tata Motors) should be the next catalysts for the stock.
