Tata Motors' Board, meeting on May 13, 2025, approved audited standalone and consolidated financial results for FY ended March 31, 2025. Statutory auditor BSR & Co. LLP issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. Consolidated FY25 revenue hit a record ₹4,39,695 crore (+1.3%), with highest-ever PBT before exceptional items of ₹34,330 crore (+₹4,963 crore YoY) and net profit of ₹28,100 crore. The automotive business turned net cash positive (₹1,000 crore), making it effectively debt-free. Q4 FY25 consolidated revenue rose 0.4% to ₹1,19,502 crore but EBITDA dipped 4.1% to ₹16,700 crore. JLR and Tata CV saw margin expansion, while Tata PV revenue fell 13.1% with EBIT margin compression of 130 bps. Standalone PAT dropped to ₹5,452 crore from ₹7,902 crore due to absence of last year's ₹3,748 crore Tata Technologies stake-sale gain. The Board recommended a final dividend of ₹6 per share (300%) and fixed the 80th AGM for June 20, 2025.
Shareholders will receive a healthy ₹6/share dividend, and the debt-free auto balance sheet strengthens financial flexibility. However, weakening passenger vehicle volumes, tariff-related global uncertainties, and lower standalone earnings (due to one-off gains not repeating) suggest mixed near-term prospects. The ongoing demerger into separate listed CV and PV entities remains a key catalyst to watch.
