Tata Power and Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) have signed an amendment to their November 2024 MoU to add a new 404 MW Nyera Amari I & II Integrated Hydropower Project to their joint portfolio. This brings the total identified hydropower capacity under the partnership to 5,033 MW from the original 4,500 MW target. Work is already underway on the Khorlochhu (600 MW) and Dorjilung (1,125 MW) projects, which together represent about 35% of the committed portfolio. The partnership also includes plans for 500 MW of solar PV projects in Bhutan. The signing was witnessed by Bhutan's Prime Minister and represents the largest power sector partnership between the two nations in Asia's clean energy sector.
