Tata Steel Limited has published newspaper advertisements informing shareholders about unclaimed dividends as per IEPF Authority rules. The notice covers shareholders of two erstwhile companies - The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) and Tata Metaliks Limited (TML) - which amalgamated with Tata Steel effective January 15, 2024 and February 1, 2024 respectively. Unclaimed dividends from FY 2018-19 to FY 2024-25 need to be claimed before September 29, 2026 (for TCIL) and September 30, 2026 (for TML), failing which the dividends and corresponding equity shares will be transferred to IEPF Authority. The company is also mandating KYC compliance and electronic payment mode for all physical shareholders.
Shareholders holding physical shares or with outdated bank details must update KYC and claim dividends before the deadline to avoid losing unclaimed dividends and shares to IEPF. No direct impact on Tata Steel's financial performance, but reduces administrative burden of managing unclaimed dividends.
