Technocraft Industries held its Q1 FY26 earnings call on August 12, 2025. Management described the quarter as fairly stable despite U.S. tariff disruptions, with U.S. scaffolding sales down about 35% quarter-on-quarter. The company faces a 50% steel tariff and reciprocal tariff increase from 10% to 25% (effective August 10), with a potential additional 25% Russian oil-linked tariff from August 27, which would push effective tariffs to 34% on scaffolding, 52.6% on drum closures, and 50% on textiles. Management is on track to grow Mach One (formwork) revenue from INR520 crores to INR900 crores in FY26, backed by an INR350 crores order book (~4 months), and the new Aurangabad plant is running at 60-65% utilization. Scaffolding exports could see degrowth this year, but management expects to be flat to slightly positive at the group level, supported by 50% domestic sales. Other income of ~INR39 crores included INR22 crores mark-to-market gains and INR8.5 crores forex gain.
Near-term margin pressure is expected on the scaffolding and drum closure businesses due to U.S. tariffs, with management absorbing the additional 25% in drum closures. Formwork/Mach One remains a strong growth engine and is on track, partially offsetting U.S. headwinds. Stock may face volatility given tariff uncertainty, but diversified business mix and robust India formwork demand provide a cushion.
