Terai Tea Company reported standalone revenue of Rs 8,871 lakhs for FY2026, down 14% from Rs 10,299 lakhs in FY2025. Despite the revenue decline, profit after tax surged 161% to Rs 960 lakhs from Rs 368 lakhs, driven largely by a deferred tax credit of Rs 426 lakhs and higher other income of Rs 1,395 lakhs. Basic EPS improved to Rs 13.95 from Rs 5.35. The company posted negative operating cash flow of Rs 513 lakhs due to increased loans and financial assets. Borrowings reduced significantly from Rs 4,623 lakhs to Rs 1,448 lakhs. Statutory auditors issued an unmodified opinion. The board also re-appointed internal and cost auditors for FY2026-27.
Revenue decline of 14% may concern investors, but strong PAT growth of 161% and significantly reduced debt are positives. Negative operating cash flow warrants monitoring. Clean audit with no qualifications is reassuring.
