Terai Tea Company's board meeting on May 30, 2026 approved re-appointment of M/s. Debabrota Banerjee and Associates as Cost Auditors and M/s. Tamakhubala & Associates as Internal Auditors for FY 2026-27. The company also reported audited financial results for FY ended March 2026. Standalone revenue declined to Rs 8,871.39 lakhs from Rs 10,299.49 lakhs last year, but net profit nearly tripled to Rs 959.92 lakhs from Rs 368.05 lakhs, driven largely by other income of Rs 1,395.24 lakhs. The standalone EPS improved significantly to Rs 13.95 from Rs 5.35. However, consolidated profit fell to Rs 518.44 lakhs from Rs 953.13 lakhs due to a share of loss of Rs 441.47 lakhs from associates. Cash reserves dropped sharply from Rs 5,150.33 lakhs to Rs 55.85 lakhs.
The routine re-appointment of auditors is a standard procedural matter with no immediate shareholder impact. The financial results show improving profitability on standalone basis but declining cash position and consolidated earnings weakness from associate companies may concern investors.
