Sanghi Industries, part of Adani Cement, announced a partnership with Finland-based Coolbrook to deploy the world's first commercial RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) at its Boyareddypalli Integrated Cement Plant in Andhra Pradesh. The technology will decarbonise the calcination phase of cement production and is expected to reduce around 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, with potential to scale up 10 times. The system will run entirely on Adani Cement's renewable energy portfolio, making the heat output carbon-emission free. This supports Adani Cement's net-zero target by 2050 (validated by SBTi) and aligns with revised targets to increase alternative fuel usage (AFR) to 30%, up from the earlier 28%, and achieve 60% green power share by FY28. The two companies have also identified potential for at least five more RDH deployment projects across Adani Cement's operations within the next two years.
Positive long-term ESG and sustainability signal for shareholders, strengthening Sanghi's positioning within Adani Cement's clean manufacturing strategy. No immediate financial impact is disclosed, and execution risks remain as the technology is being deployed at industrial scale for the first time globally.
