The India Cements has completed and stabilised a de-bottlenecking (capacity optimisation) project at its Banswara Cement Works in Rajasthan. This has added 0.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to its production capacity. With this addition, the company's total grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 14.75 mtpa. The announcement confirms the upgrade is fully operational and stabilised, not just mechanically commissioned.
A modest capacity bump (~2% increase from 14.45 to 14.75 mtpa) from a brownfield optimisation, likely with lower capital outlay than a greenfield plant. Marginally positive for long-term volume growth, but unlikely to move the stock meaningfully on its own.
