Ramco Cements shared its Q1FY26 (quarter ended June 2025) investor update with the exchanges. Consolidated revenue was largely flat at ₹2,077 Cr vs ₹2,097 Cr a year ago, but EBITDA jumped 23% to ₹404 Cr and Profit After Tax surged 143% to ₹84 Cr. Cement sales volume fell ~7% YoY to 39.98 lakh tons and capacity utilisation dropped to 68% (from 77%), hurt by early monsoon rains in Kerala and unseasonal rains in the East. Average cement prices improved 5% YoY and power & fuel cost fell ₹78/ton, lifting EBITDA/ton sharply to ₹981 from ₹752. The company is guiding ₹1,200 Cr capex for FY26 (₹321 Cr already spent in Q1) to reach 30 MTPA capacity by March 2026, has monetised ₹501 Cr of non-core assets, and holds a healthy debt-equity of 0.62x with AA+ credit rating.
Despite weak volumes, strong realisations and lower fuel costs drove a sharp jump in profitability, which is positive for shareholders. However, the 22% sequential drop in sales volume and softer capacity utilisation suggest near-term demand headwinds, while the ongoing capex and capacity expansion could support medium-term growth.
