Southern Gas Ltd reported Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025) results with total income from operations of Rs. 876.00 lakhs, up about 5% from Rs. 835.49 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Sale of products grew around 11% to Rs. 728.74 lakhs, while other operating revenue dipped to Rs. 147.26 lakhs. Profit before tax rose to Rs. 65.16 lakhs (vs Rs. 52.38 lakhs, up ~24%), though net profit was largely flat at Rs. 40.33 lakhs versus Rs. 39.87 lakhs. Basic EPS stood at Rs. 209.47 for the quarter compared to Rs. 121.64 a year ago. The statutory auditor issued an unmodified limited review report, and the board also recommended a final dividend of Rs. 50 per share (50%) for FY25.
A clean audit report and steady revenue growth are mildly positive, but the flat net profit and modest margin suggest limited near-term earnings momentum for shareholders. The 50% final dividend is a notable return signal and the AGM is scheduled for 26 September 2025.
