The Board of The Ugar Sugar Works Limited approved the audited financial results for Q4 and FY 2024-25 on May 12, 2025. Revenue from operations for the full year stood at Rs. 1,40,741.27 lakhs, up about 10% from Rs. 1,27,723.66 lakhs in FY24, while Q4 revenue rose to Rs. 52,420.84 lakhs from Rs. 40,434.99 lakhs. However, the company swung to a full-year net loss of Rs. 1,624.95 lakhs (FY24 profit: Rs. 2,114.25 lakhs), though Q4 alone posted a strong profit of Rs. 5,108.41 lakhs versus Rs. 1,736.16 lakhs a year ago. The Industrial Alcohol segment was the biggest growth driver, while Potable Alcohol remained in the red. No dividend has been recommended for FY 2024-25, and the AGM is scheduled for August 5, 2025. Statutory auditor Kirtane & Pandit LLP issued an unmodified opinion on the results.
The full-year swing into loss despite higher revenue and a strong Q4 performance is a mixed signal for shareholders. The no-dividend decision and negative annual EPS of Rs. (1.44) may weigh on the stock, though the sharp Q4 recovery could provide some support.
