Thejo Engineering's board has approved an expansion of its existing manufacturing facility, adding about 2,600 tonnes per annum of production capacity. This will raise total capacity from the current 3,600 tonnes p.a. to roughly 6,200 tonnes p.a., a ~72% jump. The company is already running at around 80% capacity utilization, so the expansion is aimed at meeting future demand. The project will cost about Rs. 40 Crore, funded mainly from internal accruals and borrowings, and is expected to be completed within 10-12 months. The expansion is also meant to widen the product range and upgrade technology to align with global standards.
Positive long-term signal as the company invests in capacity growth backed by strong existing utilization, though near-term margins could be slightly affected during the build-out phase. Funded largely internally, so dilution risk is low.
