Indian benchmarks closed higher for a second consecutive session, with the Nifty 50 rising 0.71% to 24,175 and the Sensex gaining 0.75% to 77,502. The rally was led by the Nifty IT index, which surged 4.64%, marking its biggest single-day gain since May 2025, while crude oil-sensitive and auto stocks also advanced on falling crude prices. Bank of Baroda topped the losers list with a 4.2% decline, and the Nifty PSU Bank index was the sole sectoral laggard.
