Indian benchmark indices closed higher on 6 July, with the Nifty 50 rising 0.62% to 24,420 and the Sensex gaining 0.61% to 78,236, extending Dalal Street's winning streak to four sessions. Banking heavyweights HDFC Bank and Axis Bank led the rally after positive June-quarter business updates, while Nifty Realty, Consumer Durables, and Auto sectors also posted gains of over 1%. Separately, crude oil prices hovered near a four-month low on expectations of higher OPEC+ output and improved energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.
