The Indian stock market's four-day bull run ended on 7 July, with benchmark indices closing marginally lower amid profit booking. The Nifty 50 settled 0.25% lower at 24,340 after touching an intraday high of 24,530, while the Sensex retreated 387 points from its intraday high of 78,272. The Nifty IT index led gains, rising 2.40%, while Nifty Realty fell 1.63%, and metal, chemicals, media and pharma indices declined between 0.78% and 1.20%.
