Torrent Pharma's Board (May 20, 2025) approved audited FY25 results showing strong growth. Standalone net profit jumped about 39% YoY to Rs. 1,888 cr on total revenue of Rs. 9,682 cr; standalone EPS rose to Rs. 55.79 from Rs. 40.10. Consolidated net profit rose to Rs. 1,911 cr on revenue of Rs. 11,317 cr. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 6 per share (120% on Rs. 5 face value); combined with the Rs. 26 interim dividend already paid, total FY25 dividend is Rs. 32 per share (640%). The Board also proposed seeking shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM to issue equity shares or convertible bonds via QIP up to Rs. 5,000 cr. Record date is June 20, 2025; payment is expected around August 4, 2025. Additionally, Aman Mehta will be elevated as Managing Director for 5 years from August 1, 2025. The long-pending NPPA overcharging dispute was settled favourably, and the company will move to the lower Section 115BAA tax regime from FY26.
Strong FY25 earnings and a healthy Rs. 32 total dividend are positive for shareholders, but the proposed Rs. 5,000 cr QIP could dilute equity if launched - investors should watch the pricing and timing when the company seeks to raise funds. The NPPA settlement and shift to the lower tax regime from FY26 are clarity-positive events that should support steady earnings ahead.
