Central Bank of India reported its highest-ever annual net profit of INR 3,785 crores in FY25, up 48.49% year-on-year, with total business crossing INR 7,02,798 crores for the first time. Asset quality improved sharply: gross NPA fell to 3.18% (from 4.50%) and net NPA to 0.55% (from 1.23%), with provision coverage at 96.54%. ROA rose to 0.86% and ROE to 12.48%, while NIM held steady at 3.40% and CASA stood healthy at 48.91%. Gross advances grew 15.24% to INR 2.90 lakh crores. Management guided for FY26: ~14% top-line growth, 15-16% credit growth, 12-13% deposit growth, gross NPA below 3%, net NPA at 0.45%, and a target ROA of 1%, supported by expected treasury gains of INR 600-800 crores from falling rates.
Strong all-round performance with record profit, sharp asset quality improvement, and clear FY26 numerical guidance from management is likely to be viewed positively by investors. The 1% ROA target and treasury tailwinds could support sentiment in the stock.
