Triveni Turbine reported a weak Q1 FY26 with revenue declining 20% YoY to ₹3.71 billion, mainly due to deferment of Mechanical Run Tests (MRTs) and dispatches caused by geopolitical tensions (Middle East, Israel-Iran, India-Pakistan conflicts) and travel advisories. Despite the topline fall, EBITDA margin expanded by 100 basis points to 25.8%, and PAT declined 20% to ₹644 million. Quarterly order inflow dropped 16% YoY to ₹5.36 billion as some clients shifted orders to European competitors citing force majeure concerns. However, the order book hit a record ₹20.74 billion (up 20%+ YoY) with cash and investments over ₹1,000 crore. Management highlighted strong enquiry momentum — domestic enquiries grew ~131% with market share rising to 53-55%, US enquiries up 175%, and oil & gas enquiries up 250% YoY. The company launched India's first CO2-based high-temperature heat pump (COP of 6, up to 122°C) developed with IISc, targeting industries like pharma, food, chemicals, and textiles. NTPC's CO2 energy storage project execution remains on track.
Short-term, the stock may remain under pressure as revenue recognition stays back-loaded and lumpy due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainty. However, the record order book, expanding margins, robust enquiry pipeline across geographies, and new product launches position the company well for a strong second half and beyond, making this a temporary setback rather than a structural concern for shareholders.
