At the 25th Annual General Meeting held on 19th August 2025, UltraTech Cement's shareholders approved the appointment of Deloitte Haskins and Sells LLP as the Joint Statutory Auditor of the company for a five-year term, from the conclusion of the 25th AGM until the 30th AGM. Deloitte is a large, globally recognised audit firm registered with ICAI. Separately, M/s. Makarand M. Joshi & Co., a firm of practicing Company Secretaries with over 25 years of experience, was appointed as the Secretarial Auditor for five financial years from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2030. Both appointments were made on the recommendation of the Board and Audit Committee, following standard regulatory process.
This is a routine, shareholder-approved governance change with no negative implications. Appointing a Big 4 firm (Deloitte) as joint statutory auditor may strengthen audit quality and is generally viewed positively by institutional investors. No material impact on stock price is expected.
