Unichem Laboratories reported FY26 consolidated revenue of Rs 2,201.85 crore, up 4.3% from Rs 2,110.97 crore in FY25. Net profit after tax (consolidated) rose to Rs 252.84 crore from Rs 137.52 crore, boosted by a Rs 275.52 crore gain on sale of the erstwhile registered office and reversal of EU fine provisions, partly offset by a Rs 201.86 crore net exceptional charge (including Rs 58.26 crore EU interest and Rs 15.40 crore new labour code impact). The Board redesignated Mr. Pabitrakumar Bhattacharyya as Managing Director & CEO and re-appointed him for three years from August 2026 (subject to shareholder approval). Auditors gave an unmodified opinion. Both cost and internal auditors were reappointed for FY27.
Strong bottom-line growth driven by asset sale gains masks weaker underlying operations; the CEO consolidation and extension provides leadership stability ahead of the new term. Q4 standalone loss of Rs 15.39 crore warrants attention on standalone performance.
