Barbeque Nation Hospitality Limited shared its Q1 FY26 earnings presentation. Consolidated revenue fell 2.8% YoY to ₹2,970 mn, hurt by a 7% decline in the India business due to softer dine-in demand, though the International and Premium CDR segments grew 10% and 19% respectively. Same-store sales growth (SSSG) was -3.4% (improved from -7.4% a year ago). Operating EBITDA dropped 9.5% to ₹460 mn with margin compressing to 15.5%, and the company slipped into a loss after tax of ₹167 mn versus ₹43 mn a year ago. The company added 7 new restaurants (total network 236), with 11 more under construction, and reiterated its target of expanding to 300-325 restaurants by FY27. New restaurants are still in ramp-up phase, dragging down margins temporarily.
Mixed to negative for shareholders — the India core business is showing demand weakness with declining revenue and margin compression, while newer International and Premium CDR segments are growing well but are smaller. The loss widened meaningfully and cash profit fell 41%, which could weigh on the stock near-term despite the longer-term expansion story.
