Universal Cables reported strong FY2025-26 results with consolidated revenue from operations of Rs. 30,227 lakhs, up 25.5% from Rs. 24,084 lakhs in FY2024-25. Standalone PAT grew 68.5% to Rs. 965.3 lakhs while consolidated PAT surged 82.5% to Rs. 16,311 lakhs, boosted significantly by share of profit from associate/joint venture (Rs. 8,227 lakhs vs Rs. 4,620 lakhs). The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 4.50 per share (45%) totaling Rs. 1,561.29 lakhs, subject to shareholder approval. The company is pursuing aggressive capacity expansion with Rs. 550 crores organic expansion already underway and an additional Rs. 73 crores for EHV Cable facility modernization at Satna. Plans to raise up to Rs. 200 crores via NCDs on private placement basis. Note 5 of consolidated results highlights that three wholly-owned subsidiaries of associate Vindhya Telelinks are excluded from consolidation due to unauthorized possession of books by ex-directors. Company Secretary appointed; one independent director's term ends June 13, 2026.
Strong earnings growth with PAT up 68-82% demonstrates operational strength. However, heavy capex (Rs. 623 crores combined) and planned NCD issuance (Rs. 200 crores) will increase leverage. The dividend offers ~4.5% yield at current prices. Watch for debt servicing pressures as expansions come online.
