CARE Ratings has reaffirmed Universal Cables Limited's credit ratings at 'CARE A; Stable' for long-term facilities and 'CARE A1' for short-term facilities, while also enhancing the sanctioned limits. Long-term bank facilities were enhanced from Rs. 836.43 crore to Rs. 1,079 crore, and short-term bank facilities from Rs. 1,400 crore to Rs. 1,726 crore. The reaffirmation reflects the company's association with the financially strong MP Birla Group, a healthy order book of Rs. 1,792 crore, and a comfortable capital structure with overall gearing of 0.31x. Revenue grew ~19% to Rs. 2,414 crore in FY25, though PBILDT margins declined to 7.46% from 8.21%. The company is undertaking a Rs. 500 crore capacity expansion supported by group funding and term loans.
Positive for shareholders — credit ratings reaffirmed at investment grade and bank facility limits enhanced, signaling continued lender confidence and access to growth capital. The stable outlook suggests no near-term rating pressure, supporting the company's capex and working capital needs.
