Uno Minda’s passenger vehicle seating systems push adds a new growth engine

Uno Minda announced its entry into passenger vehicle seating systems through a joint venture with Japan's Tachi-S, investing around 320 crore rupees in a new plant with annual capacity of about 240,000 units and potential revenue addition of around 800 crore rupees by FY28. The company is also expanding its EV powertrain facility at Khed (operations from H2FY27), approved a second plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for 550 crore rupees to manufacture EV drive units and hybrid transmissions, and plans FY27 capex of about 1,750 crore rupees. Its sunroof order book exceeds 350 crore rupees in annual potential revenue, while a new infotainment order has a peak annual value of about 600 crore rupees, with Motilal Oswal projecting revenue of 27,591 crore rupees by FY28.
