Usha Martin filed its Q1 FY26 earnings presentation. Net revenue from operations grew 7.4% YoY to Rs. 887.2 crore, supported by a strong 10.4% YoY volume increase across core segments. However, operating EBITDA fell 6.1% YoY to Rs. 144.6 crore, with EBITDA margin contracting to 16.3% from 18.6% a year ago, which management attributed to market-led margin pressures partially offset by value-added product mix and operational controls. PAT was largely flat at Rs. 100.8 crore versus Rs. 103.8 crore in Q1 FY25. On the balance sheet, the company is now net debt-free at the consolidated level (net debt of Rs. -14 crore versus Rs. 63 crore in FY25), and working capital days improved to 196 from 209 in September 2024. Management highlighted a robust order pipeline and ongoing 'One Usha Martin' transformation, expressing confidence in stronger outcomes from H2 FY26 onwards.
Mixed quarter for shareholders – top-line growth and zero net debt are positives, but YoY margin compression of ~230 bps and slight PAT decline may keep the stock range-bound in the near term. Forward-looking commentary on H2 FY26 margin recovery and ongoing capacity expansion at Ranchi could support sentiment if execution holds.
