V B Desai Financial Services reported strong profit growth for Q2 FY26, with net profit rising to Rs. 23.88 lakhs from Rs. 9.40 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a jump of about 154%. For the half year (H1 FY26), net profit doubled to Rs. 44.16 lakhs versus Rs. 21.79 lakhs in H1 FY25, while total income grew to Rs. 219.72 lakhs from Rs. 159.98 lakhs. Revenue from operations for H1 stood at Rs. 164.58 lakhs (up ~9.5% YoY). The profit surge was driven largely by a sharp rise in 'other income' from Rs. 9.76 lakhs to Rs. 55.14 lakhs in the half year, while core operations remained modest in size. The auditor (N.S. Shetty & Co.) issued an unmodified (clean) limited review opinion. The company remains debt-free with total equity of Rs. 1,249.12 lakhs.
Profitability has more than doubled year-on-year, supported by healthy non-operating income and an equity-rich, debt-free balance sheet — likely a positive read for shareholders. However, cash flow from operating activities turned negative at Rs. -9.35 lakhs in H1 FY26 versus a positive Rs. 12.67 lakhs last year, signalling that reported profits are not yet translating into operating cash generation.
