V R Films & Studios' board approved its audited standalone financial results for Q4 and full year ended March 31, 2025, along with the appointment of M.R.V. & Associates as Internal Auditors for FY2025-26. Revenue from operations for FY25 stood at Rs 1,222.43 lakhs, marginally lower than Rs 1,240.00 lakhs in FY24, while the company reported a sharply higher net loss of Rs 374.44 lakhs versus Rs 61.30 lakhs in the previous year. Q4FY25 was particularly weak, with revenue dropping to Rs 238.70 lakhs (from Rs 607.02 lakhs in Q4FY24) and a net loss of Rs 274.69 lakhs. The auditor issued an unmodified opinion but drew attention to an Emphasis of Matter: the company changed its inventory valuation method for film distribution rights from 'Release basis' to 'License period basis', which reduced reported profit by Rs 2.99 crore, and also noted the industry-wide shift from paid channels to OTT platforms.
Negative for shareholders — losses have widened significantly year-on-year, reserves have turned negative at Rs 316.43 lakhs, and the auditor's Emphasis of Matter flags structural headwinds (OTT disruption) and a change in accounting method that masked profitability. Despite a clean audit opinion, the deteriorating financials and erosion of equity are red flags for the stock.
