V R Films & Studios Ltd reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs 247.84 lakhs for Q2 FY26, down about 39% from Rs 403.96 lakhs in Q2 FY25. For H1 FY26, revenue fell to Rs 515.61 lakhs from Rs 635.09 lakhs a year ago, an 18.8% decline. Despite the revenue drop, the company swung to a profit — Q2 PAT was Rs 13.43 lakhs (vs Rs 41.19 lakhs YoY, a sharp fall) and H1 PAT was Rs 65.36 lakhs compared to a loss of Rs 43.78 lakhs in H1 FY25. EPS for H1 stood at Rs 0.60 versus a loss of Rs 0.40 in the previous year. The limited review by the statutory auditor was clean with no qualifications. Short-term borrowings remained high at Rs 715.84 lakhs and other equity is still negative at Rs (247.95) lakhs, though improving from Rs (316.43) lakhs at March 2025.
Topline is contracting sharply, which is a red flag, but the company has returned to profitability at the half-year level and is gradually rebuilding its net worth from negative territory. Mixed signals — operational recovery is positive but revenue weakness and high short-term debt remain concerns for shareholders.
