Vanta Bioscience Ltd has allotted 8,00,000 equity shares (4,00,000 each) to promoters Dopesh Raja Mulakala and S Chandra Sekhar Rao on May 6, 2025, through a preferential issue on conversion of their unsecured loans into equity at Rs 50 per share (Rs 10 face value + Rs 40 premium). As a result, Dopesh Raja Mulakala's stake rose from 7.26% to 12.06% and S Chandra Sekhar Rao's stake rose from 1.94% to 7.35%. The total promoter and promoter group holding increased from 69.36% to 72.81% of the expanded share capital. The company's total equity share capital went up from Rs 6.31 crore (63.12 lakh shares) to Rs 7.11 crore (71.12 lakh shares). Notably, individual promoter Mohan Krishna Mulakala's stake dipped from 55.22% to 49.01% on a post-issue basis because the share base widened, even though his share count stayed the same.
Promoters have shown confidence by converting their loans into equity rather than demanding repayment, which strengthens the company's balance sheet. However, the dilution means a key individual promoter's stake has now slipped below the 50% mark, reducing the single-largest controlling shareholder's grip. For retail investors, this increases promoter group control overall but introduces some concentration risk in collective decision-making.
