Vedanta Power reported Q1 FY27 power sales of 5,225 million units, up 38% QoQ but down 6% versus FY26 average. Meenakshi Energy surged 245% YoY to 1,350 million units on full 1,000 MW capacity. Talwandi Sabo held steady at 2,723 million units with plant availability improving to 86%. Jharsuguda contributed 687 million units. Sakti Thermal Plant sales fell to 465 million units after a boiler blast on April 14 forced a temporary shutdown. The company was demerged from Vedanta Limited during the quarter.
Strong Meenakshi growth and improved Talwandi Sabo availability are positives, but the Sakti plant shutdown after a boiler blast may weigh on sentiment.
