Vedanta reported its Q1FY26 (ended June 30, 2025) production numbers across business segments. Alumina production at the Lanjigarh refinery hit a record 587 kt, up 9% YoY and 36% QoQ, driven by better raw material supply. Zinc India recorded its highest-ever Q1 mined metal output at 265 kt (+1% YoY), though saleable silver fell 11% YoY to 149 tonnes. Zinc International production surged 50% YoY and 12% QoQ on ramp-up at the Gamsberg mine. Ferro Chrome posted record output, up 150% QoQ, while iron ore saleable production rose 42% YoY. On the weaker side, Oil & Gas gross production dropped 17% QoQ to 93.2 kboepd, mainly due to a 20% fall in Rajasthan output. Power sales grew 11% YoY, supported by the new 300 MW Meenakshi unit.
The release shows operational strength in aluminium, zinc, and ferro chrome with multiple records, which is positive for sentiment. However, the sharp QoQ drop in oil & gas output and weaker silver volumes are mild negatives. Overall a mixed production update — likely neutral to mildly positive for the stock ahead of detailed Q1 results.
