Veejay Lakshmi Engineering Works has filed its 50th Annual Report for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. Total income declined to Rs. 7,964.93 lakhs from Rs. 8,709.10 lakhs in FY24, an 8.5% drop, as both the engineering and textile divisions faced weak demand and lower yarn prices. Despite the revenue fall, the net loss narrowed significantly to Rs. 331.48 lakhs from Rs. 455.54 lakhs in the previous year. No dividend has been declared due to the continued losses. The company carries total borrowings of around Rs. 2,948 lakhs, including unsecured promoter loans of Rs. 1,730.69 lakhs on which promoters have waived interest until March 2028 to ease liquidity. State Bank of India has asked promoters to infuse additional funds to improve liquidity and working capital. The AGM is scheduled for September 11, 2025, with items including the reappointment of Managing Director Sri J. Anand and appointment of a new Secretarial Auditor for five years from FY 2025-26.
Shareholders face another year without dividend and continued losses, although the narrowing loss is a modest positive. Persistent liquidity pressure and dependence on promoter support could keep the stock under pressure until demand recovery in textiles and engineering.
