Velan Hotels has settled a long-running dispute with Mohan Clothing Company Pvt Ltd through an amicable, out-of-court arrangement, bringing the matter to a close. The original arbitration award had directed the company to pay around Rs. 33.61 lakh (refund of Rs. 9.82 lakh security deposit, Rs. 22.79 lakh for fit-out/interior works with 9% interest, plus Rs. 1 lakh in damages and costs). The company had challenged the award in higher courts since 2019. Under the settlement, Velan Hotels will pay Rs. 20 lakhs, saving roughly Rs. 13.61 lakh compared to the original claim.
