Velan Hotels reported a loss of Rs 44.22 lakhs for Q1 FY26, nearly doubling from Rs 22.20 lakhs loss in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations was a negligible Rs 2.83 lakhs versus Rs 0.18 lakhs a year ago, as the company has kept all revenue-generating operations suspended since March 2020. Negative reserves stand at Rs 4,532 lakhs, and EPS for the quarter was Rs (0.14). The auditor (Krishaan & Co.) flagged serious concerns including going concern uncertainty, pending asset impairment testing, and statutory dues (GST, VAT, Service Tax) overdue by over 12 months. The board also re-appointed Executive Director Mr. M.R. Gautham for one year without any managerial remuneration.
The stock remains a deeply distressed micro-cap — operations are shut, losses are widening, reserves are fully eroded, and survival depends entirely on selling assets to settle debt with RARE Asset Reconstruction. Shareholders face significant uncertainty with no near-term path to profitability and material risk of further value erosion.
