Venus Pipes & Tubes reported an all-time high quarterly revenue of INR 276.4 Cr in Q1 FY26, up 15.1% year-on-year, driven by strong 69% growth in export revenue to INR 103.1 Cr (now 37.3% of total sales). However, profitability weakened with EBITDA falling 6.3% to INR 44.9 Cr and PAT declining 9.8% to INR 24.8 Cr, as margins compressed to 16.2% (from 20.0%) and 9.0% (from 11.5%) respectively, hurt by higher employee and other expenses. Seamless pipes grew 13% and welded pipes 10% YoY. Management highlighted strong order flow, especially from the power sector, and confirmed that capacity expansion for fittings, seamless pipes and the piercing line remains on track for H2 FY26, backed by ~INR 175 Cr of capex.
Strong topline growth and robust export momentum are positives, but the sharp YoY margin contraction despite revenue growth is a concern and may weigh on near-term sentiment. The order pipeline and upcoming capacity additions support a constructive medium-term outlook, though investors will watch whether margin pressure persists as new capacity ramps up.
