Vidya Wires Limited has disclosed that its wholly owned subsidiary, ALCU Industries Private Limited, received an assessment order from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle-3, Vadodara. The order was issued under Section 158B(c)(1) read with Section 143(3) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, covering the block period from 01 April 2018 to 31 March 2025. The IT department has raised a tax demand of ₹1,75,77,666 (approximately ₹1.76 crore) on account of certain additions and disallowance of expenditures under various sections of the IT Act. The order was received on 28 May 2026. The company has stated it intends to file an appeal against the order and does not expect any material impact on its financials or operations.
The ₹1.76 crore tax demand is significant but the company has downplayed the impact, stating no material effect is expected and an appeal will be filed. Pending resolution of the appeal, there is some regulatory risk for the subsidiary's financials.
