VIP Industries shared its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) investor presentation covering financial performance, brand portfolio, and channel mix. Revenue fell 12% year-on-year to Rs. 561 crore, with volume declining 8% — the first de-growth in five quarters, attributed to a sharp drop in secondary sales, especially in e-commerce. Reported EBITDA margin dropped to 5.2% from 8% in Q1 FY25, with a loss before tax of Rs. 17 crore; however, the company highlighted one-time inventory provisions of around 5%, saying adjusted EBITDA margin was 10.2% and gross margin 48%. Market share stood at around 36% (CY24), broadly steady versus peers Safari and Samsonite. The Bangladesh business turned profitable at Rs. 8 crore versus an Rs. 11 crore loss a year ago. The company unveiled new launches across Carlton, VIP, Skybags, Aristocrat and a new entry into professional backpacks under the 'Streax' brand, plus QR-enabled smart bag tags.
Short-term sentiment may be weak given the first volume contraction in five quarters and a swing to a loss at the PBT line, but the management's emphasis on adjusted margins and one-off inventory provisions could provide some cushion. Investors should watch e-commerce sales recovery and whether adjusted margin improvements sustain into the festive quarter.
