Virat Industries reported standalone unaudited results for Q2 FY26 (quarter ended Sept 30, 2025). Revenue from operations fell sharply to ₹724.24 lakh from ₹1,159.24 lakh in Q2 FY25, a decline of about 37.5%. Half-year revenue also dipped to ₹1,584.84 lakh vs ₹1,758.29 lakh last year. However, profit after tax jumped to ₹182.17 lakh in Q2 (from ₹39.20 lakh) and ₹270.60 lakh for H1 (from ₹61.07 lakh), largely because 'Other Income' (interest on deposits) surged to ₹181.45 lakh in Q2 from ₹50.39 lakh. The statutory auditor B.K. Khare & Co. issued an unmodified (unqualified) opinion. The board also approved a preferential allotment of 95.99 lakh equity shares at ₹104 each (₹94 premium) to Mr. Bhavook Chandraprakash Tripathi, raising approximately ₹99.8 crore and taking paid-up capital from ₹4.92 crore to ₹14.52 crore.
Core sock-manufacturing business is weakening with a sharp revenue drop, but bottom-line growth is being propped up by interest income from the fresh capital sitting in bank balances (over ₹106 crore now). Retail investors should note heavy equity dilution from the preferential issue and watch whether the new capital is deployed into growth or remains parked in deposits, which would flatter near-term PAT but mask underlying business slowdown.
