Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Ltd, an infrastructure construction company, reported a net loss of Rs 1,501.16 million for FY2026 compared to a net profit of Rs 585.96 million in FY2025. Revenue from operations declined sharply to Rs 8,511.95 million from Rs 12,374.18 million in the prior year, a drop of about 31%. The auditors from Banshi Jain & Associates issued an unmodified opinion but included a Material Uncertainty Related to Going Concern (Note 9) citing severe cash constraints due to delayed realization of receivables from government authorities. An exceptional item of Rs 99.64 million was recognized in Q3 FY2026 related to encashment of a performance bank guarantee following contract termination for the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur doubling project, where the company has filed a writ petition in Rajasthan High Court. Another contract (Bikaner Railway Station upgrade, Rs 199.47 million exposure) also faced termination notice and is pending before the same court. Cash and cash equivalents stood at just Rs 8.16 million as of March 31, 2026. Promoter-supported unsecured interest-free loans helped repay approximately Rs 340 crore of bank borrowings during the year.
The company swung from profit to a substantial loss, with auditors flagging going concern risks due to liquidity stress from delayed government receivables. Two major contract terminations adding Rs ~299 million in exposure further weigh on the outlook, though ongoing legal proceedings provide some hope of recovery.
