WPIL Ltd, a multi-national pumps and pumping systems company with 70+ years of experience and 12 manufacturing locations globally, reported Q1-FY26 consolidated revenue of INR 3,786 Mn, up 4.4% YoY. However, profitability declined sharply — EBITDA fell 18.4% YoY to INR 492 Mn with margins contracting 363 basis points to 13.00%, and net profit dropped 40.4% to INR 258 Mn (PAT margin 6.81%). The company carries a healthy consolidated order book of INR 42,530 Mn, split between product (INR 10,530 Mn) and project (INR 32,000 Mn) divisions. International business grew 56% YoY to INR 197 Cr, driven by recent acquisitions, though margins were hit by one-time transactional and legacy costs which management expects to normalize through the year. Domestic product division posted a record Q1 order intake of INR 139 Cr, while 4 projects commenced O&M operations.
Near-term earnings weakness (profit down 40%, margins compressed) may pressure the stock, but the strong INR 4,253 Cr order book and management's guidance on margin recovery from international operations provide a supportive medium-term outlook.
