WPIL's South African subsidiary, PCI Africa Consortium, has been awarded a contract for the upgrading and expansion of the Macassar Wastewater Treatment Works for the City of Cape Town. The total contract is valued at 2.50 Billion Rand (approximately Rs. 1,340 Crores), with PCI Africa's share being about 1.175 Billion Rand (approximately Rs. 630 Crores). The project will run for 54 months (about 4.5 years). The contract is not a related party transaction and was disclosed under SEBI LODR Regulation 30.
This is a meaningful order win that significantly boosts WPIL's international order book and provides multi-year revenue visibility. The foreign currency contract also gives some natural hedge and exposure to the South African municipal infrastructure market, which is positive for long-term shareholders.
