CRISIL has downgraded Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility's credit ratings on its Rs 250 crore bank loan facilities. The long-term rating moved to BB+/Stable from BBB-/Negative, and the short-term rating fell to A4+ from A3, pushing the company into the speculative-grade (junk) category. The downgrade reflects stretched liquidity, with revenue dipping to Rs 302 crore in FY25 from Rs 317 crore in FY24, and a working capital cycle that worsened sharply to 416 days from 241 days. Debt nearly doubled to Rs 196 crore as the company borrowed from NBFCs to fund working capital, weakening its total outside liabilities to net worth ratio to 3.04 times and interest coverage to just 1.83 times (from 6.17 times). About 53% of revenue comes from promoter-related super-stockists, adding concentration risk, and the company plans a Rs 75 crore capex in FY26 partly to be funded by a Rs 49 crore rights issue.
Negative for shareholders — the rating downgrade signals weakened financial health, stretched liquidity, and higher borrowing costs going forward, which could pressure the stock and make future fundraising more expensive. The outlook was, however, revised to Stable, suggesting CRISIL does not expect further immediate deterioration.
