Waterbase Ltd reported total income of Rs. 88.1 crore for Q1 FY26, up about 20.3% from Rs. 72.8 crore in Q1 FY25, driven mainly by a near-doubling of Processed Shrimp (exports) revenue to Rs. 48.2 crore from Rs. 24.4 crore. However, the Shrimp Feeds segment revenue fell sharply to Rs. 33.7 crore from Rs. 45.6 crore a year ago, hurt by early harvests and disease outbreaks per management commentary. The company continued to post a loss, but it narrowed meaningfully — loss after tax was Rs. 3.3 crore versus Rs. 6.3 crore in Q1 FY25, and loss before tax improved to Rs. 4.4 crore from Rs. 8.5 crore. Basic and diluted EPS stood at Rs. (0.79). The statutory auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
Improving trend: the loss is shrinking and exports are scaling up, which is a positive sign for shareholders. However, the core feed business is under pressure and the company is still loss-making, so near-term stock sentiment may remain cautious until feed demand recovers.
