CARE Ratings and CRISIL have both reaffirmed Welspun Corp's credit ratings with a stable outlook. CARE reaffirmed AA+ (Stable) on long-term bank facilities of Rs. 1,059 crore and A1+ on short-term facilities of Rs. 5,709 crore, while CRISIL reaffirmed AA+/Stable on total bank facilities of Rs. 6,229 crore and A1+ on short-term facilities. Both agencies also reaffirmed the Commercial Paper rating at A1+ and enhanced the CP program size from Rs. 500 crore to Rs. 600 crore. NCDs of Rs. 240 crore (CARE) and Rs. 300 crore (CRISIL) were reaffirmed at AA+/Stable. The company has a strong order book of around Rs. 23,500 crore, FY25 operating income of Rs. 13,967 crore, and EBITDA of Rs. 1,692 crore with a net debt negative position.
Reaffirmation of high investment-grade ratings (AA+/Stable and A1+) reflects strong credit quality, healthy financials, and robust business profile. The enhanced Commercial Paper limit gives the company greater short-term funding flexibility. This is positive for shareholders, indicating low credit risk and continued easy access to capital markets at favorable rates.
